We are Trefkrag Digital Marketing and this is our website Trefkrag.co.za. This privacy policy is an explanation of how we protect the privacy of our website visitors.

Comments and Media

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

How long we retain your data and what rights you have over your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue. If you have left comments on this website, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

A few things worth adding before this goes live, since you’re running lead ads and forms across multiple client verticals:

  1. POPIA compliance section — this template is WordPress’s generic default (built for comments/blogs). Since Trefkrag actually collects lead data via forms for ad campaigns, you’ll want a section covering what you collect through contact/lead forms specifically, your lawful basis for processing, and your Information Officer contact (required under POPIA).
  2. Third-party tools disclosure — if you use Google Ads, GA4, Meta Pixel, GHL, or similar tracking on the site, POPIA and general best practice want these named explicitly, not just covered by “embedded content.”
  3. Contact details for data requests — the template says “you can request” but doesn’t say how; add an email or contact method.

Information We Collect Through Contact and Lead Forms

When you submit an enquiry, request a quote, or sign up for information through any form on this site, we collect the details you provide (such as your name, email address, phone number, and any message content). We use this information solely to respond to your enquiry and to follow up about the service you’ve requested. We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with third parties except where necessary to deliver the service you’ve requested (for example, passing your details to the specific business whose services you enquired about).

Our lawful basis for processing this information is your consent, given when you submit the form, and/or our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries directed at us.
